10 Tips to Help You Manage Stress
1. Spend time each day growing spiritually. Count your blessings. Renew yourself for the next day. I start my day reading my Bible.
2. Maintain a sense of humor. Finding the humor in a stressful situation will help you find balance in your life Remember to release those endorphins by smiling.
3. Don’t over extend yourself. Learn to say NO! Don’t pile more things on your overflowing plate, especially all of you perfectionists.
4. Change your personal attitude. Don’t give stress the power to ruin your mood. One bad event shouldn’t spoil your day.
5. Practice positive self-affirmations.
6. Take a short break after a stressful situation. Take a walk around the block, spend five minutes meditating. Allow yourself time to refresh and recharge.
7. Set realistic and meaningful goals. Examine your relationships with family and friends.
8. Engage in good time management techniques. We only have 24 hours in a day to work with. Have you prioritized them well?
9. Start giving to others. Volunteer, help a friend. Giving to others takes your attention away from you and your stress.
10. Put things into perspective by finding someone to talk to. Call a friend or get professional help.
Try to commit to these 10 steps in relieving stress for six months.
